Preparation and Aftercare for Intimate Areas

Before Your Session

• Arrive freshly showered, with the area clean and free of lotions, oils, or makeup.
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment for an easier, more comfortable experience afterward.
• Avoid tanning or sunburn on any exposed area being treated for at least two weeks prior.
• Apply your numbing cream at home as directed, about 1 to 1.5 hours before your appointment.
• Let your technician know at consultation about any recent waxing, procedures, or skin conditions in the area.
  

After Your Session

• Keep the area clean and dry, and handle it gently while it heals.
• Choose loose, breathable clothing and cotton underwear to reduce friction on the treated skin.
• Avoid intense exercise, cycling, and anything that causes heavy sweating or rubbing in the area for the first several days.
• Skip swimming pools, hot tubs, baths, and sexual activity until the skin has fully healed to prevent friction and infection.
• Apply SPF 50 to any treated area that will be exposed to sunlight, especially when the UV Index is 3 or above.
• Do not pick at scabbing or blistering. Let the skin settle on its own, as disturbing it can affect your results.

How many sessions you will need depends on the ink, its age and depth, the colours involved, and your skin. Most full removals take several sessions spaced eight to twelve weeks apart, and we lean toward the longer end of that range because more healing time between treatments tends to produce better results.
