I Don't Like My Tattoo Anymore, What Can I Do?

While it's difficult to pinpoint an exact number (nor does it really matter), a
Harris poll found that about one-quarter of Canadians with tattoos later regret getting one. As someone who has tapped or spoken “I don’t like my tattoo anymore” into their mobile device, it’s safe to say that you’re among this group.
Years ago, someone in your shoes would be relatively out of luck. Sure, there were a few options out there, but most were unsafe and ineffective. And in the rare circumstances that an effective solution was found, the service was generally cost-prohibitive for 99% of the population. That has thankfully changed. Below is a brief but helpful summary of what to know to be free of the tattoo you no longer like.
3 Steps to Take When You Don’t Like Your Tattoo Anymore
Step 1: Reassess Your Dislike
Before taking action, we encourage introspection. Is the current dislike of your tattoo related to an emotional reaction to something? For instance, a comment from an insensitive person may have temporarily altered the way you feel about your body (tattoo included). If so, take your time and see if you feel the same in a month or two. The last thing you want is to make a reactive decision about a permanent change to your body and form of self-expression. Remember, this advice is coming from a tattoo removal studio, so if we encourage you to rethink removal, it must be an important consideration! Otherwise, if you truly dislike your tattoo, you may proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Decide on Full Removal vs Cover-Up
After reconsidering your stance on the tattoo, you remain firm on your decision to get rid of it. But what does that mean? Do you simply no longer want a tattoo on that part of your body? If so, then premium laser technology
will remove it completely. However, do you instead wish that you could trade the tattoo for a better one?
If so, the same laser technology can be applied to edit the tattoo, or a complete cover-up can be done by first lightening the existing tattoo. Once you’ve decided on either full removal or cover-up, you can move on to the next and final step.
