How does laser tattoo removal work?
Laser tattoo removal works by delivering ultra-short pulses of laser energy into the tattoo ink. This energy breaks the ink into extremely small particles, which are then gradually removed by your body’s natural immune system. Over time, the tattoo fades with each session as the ink is cleared.
Does laser tattoo removal hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as similar to getting a tattoo, often compared to a quick snap of a rubber band against the skin.
Treatments are brief, and we use a cooling fan throughout the session to minimize discomfort; applying numbing cream at home 1 to 1.5 hours beforehand takes the edge off.

How many tattoo removal sessions will I need?

Can you fade a tattoo for a cover-up?
Yes! Fade-to-cover tattoo removal is one of NIXX’s specialties. Many clients only need partial fading so a tattoo artist can successfully cover the existing ink.
We work closely with tattoo artists and recommend waiting about 3 months after your last session before getting a new tattoo.
Why start in the fall and winter?
Treated skin needs protection from the sun between sessions. In fall and winter, that is much easier to manage, and healing happens under your sleeves, so you arrive in summer showing progress instead of recovery.
Is laser tattoo removal safe?
